什么时候用a什么时候用the

冠词有：不定冠词（a 、an ）和 定冠词（the）而关于冠词的用法，也只有四种：1、加 a； 2、加 an； 3、加 the； 4、不加冠词，那至于什么情况下，怎么用？下面分复数和单数的情况，来进行讲解：

（1）复数是只有两种情况，加 the 或 不加冠词

1、复数一般情况下不加冠词 。

2、特殊情况为后面跟定语从句（或其缩略式）进行限定时，加the。

（2）单数不定冠词 a 或 an：

1、在句义表示泛指时，加 a 或 an。

2、同位语进行解释说明时，要加 a 或 an。如：…… by Redfin,anational real estate brokerage firm.

3、单数名词前有形容词，一般要添加 a 或 an。 如：adecisive reversal （一种决定性的逆转）

4、至于用 a 还是 an，就看后面的的词的发音是否是以元音开始。

定冠词 the：

1、of 前的单数名词一般要加 the，固定词组除外。如：the start of the recession。

2、明确特指对象，要加 the。如：debunkingtheidea that we need to grow more food on a large scale so we can “feedthenine bollion”-theanticipated global population by 2050.

3、定语从句（包括 doing 或 done 的从句省略形式）的先行词一般加 the。如：There is aslothevirtually unregulated food system that is geared toward making money rather than feeding people.
