were it not for用于与现在相反的情况。Were it not是对现在或是将来进行假设，并且省略和倒装的，主句通常用would/could/should/might+do。当虚拟条件句的谓语部分含有were,should,had时，我们可以将连词if省略掉，而将were,should,had置于句首。
